About the Role\nAmentum is seeking a professional Barber to provide grooming services for personnel at a station in Lamu, Kenya. This role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service while delivering various hair and facial grooming treatments. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team dedicated to making a meaningful impact, supporting the morale and welfare of personnel stationed on-site.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Provide professional grooming services including cutting, trimming, tapering, and styling hair using clippers, scissors, razors, and related tools.\n- Evaluate hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques.\n- Perform shaving, beard and mustache trimming, scalp treatments, and other grooming services.\n- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in accordance with industry and Navy standards.\n- Recommend grooming products and support customer service needs.\n- Manage equipment, maintain tools, and support morale and welfare initiatives for personnel stationed on the island.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- 1–3 years of professional barbering experience.\n- High school diploma or equivalent.\n- Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.\n- Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.\n- Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.\n- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.\n- Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce (Preferred).\n- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills (Preferred).\n- Valid driver’s license (Preferred).\n- Ability to obtain country-specific visas in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide (Preferred).\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Amentum careers portal.
