Job Description

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the National Prosecuting Authority in Kenya, established under Article 157 of the Constitution. The Office is mandated to prosecute all criminal cases in the country. The ODPP is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Audit Officer II to support its internal audit functions.

Job Overview

The Audit Officer II will be responsible for performing internal audit assignments to ensure that the organization's risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively. This role involves verifying compliance with financial regulations and institutional policies.

Requirements and Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BA) - Accounting/Finance Option or Bachelor of Science (BSc) - Auditing and Consultancy/Finance option from a recognized institution or its equivalent qualification.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part II or equivalent qualifications.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 regarding leadership and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out routine audit tests and procedures.
Assist in the preparation of audit reports.
Verify the accuracy of financial records and statements.
Evaluate internal control systems for effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitor compliance with government financial regulations and institutional policies.
