Established 12 years ago, PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camp is a prominent and rapidly growing hospitality brand in Kenya. We are currently seeking a skilled Audio-Visual Technician to manage all technical aspects of events and entertainment at our Mombasa location.
Role Overview
As an Audio-Visual Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of specialized audio-visual equipment, stage design, and providing entertainment services to ensure high-quality visual and auditory experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
AV Equipment Management: Set up and dismantle LED panels during events, ensuring proper operation and constant supervision. Operate and design lighting systems for shows using DMX or other professional lighting equipment.
Stage Construction & Design: Assemble and disassemble portable and outdoor stages as required. Design and decorate stages using lights, screens, props, and backdrops to create engaging visual environments.
Entertainment Services: Provide music and entertainment services, including DJ support, at various events and shows. Prepare weekly animation and entertainment schedules and promote activities to guests.
Maintenance & Inventory: Ensure all technical tools and audio-visual equipment are available, sanitized, and properly maintained. Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, report repair needs, and store items securely.
Event Coordination: Organize special events and evening programs, particularly during high season. Collaborate with other departments for occasions like children’s parties, cocktail receptions, gala dinners, and certificate presentations.
Guest Engagement: Escort guests on scheduled excursions. Gather guest feedback, motivate participation in activities, and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Safety & Quality Control: Supervise guest activities to ensure safety, quality, and smooth execution. Provide accurate information about hotel services and animation activities to both guests and staff.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: BA/BSc/HND in a relevant technical or engineering field.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in operating professional AV and lighting systems (e.g., DMX).
Skills: Ability to design stage layouts and manage technical equipment inventories.
Experience: Prior experience in a hospitality or event-driven environment is highly preferred.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support event schedules.
