Job Description
Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is a public-spirited center of excellence established in 2015 to make distinctive contributions to society in teaching, research innovation, and holistic development. The University is seeking a qualified academic professional for the position of Associate Professor (Grade 14) specializing in Curriculum Studies. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, engage in high-level research, and mentor the next generation of scholars.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and instruction at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of Curriculum Studies.
Supervise postgraduate research to completion, including at least one doctoral student.
Conduct impactful research and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Lead curriculum development and improvement initiatives within the department.
Attract research grants and development funds to the University.
Mentor junior academic staff and students.
Participate in community service and institutional development activities.
Contribute to the administrative functions of the department and the wider University.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Curriculum Studies or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent academic rank.
Professional Standing: Registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Supervision Track Record: Successfully supervised to completion a minimum of four (4) postgraduate students, including at least one (1) doctoral student, while serving as a Senior Lecturer or Senior Research Fellow.
Publications: A minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent, with at least thirty-two (32) of these points derived from refereed scholarly journals.
Resource Mobilization: Evidence of having attracted research or development funds or educational resources since the last promotion.
Community Service: Demonstrated evidence of active involvement in community service.
