Associate Professor, Grade 14 - Biology/ Entomology

Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) is seeking a qualified Associate Professor (Grade 14) specializing in Biology/Entomology. This senior academic role involves advanced teaching, high-level research supervision, and contribution to the university's mission of excellence in research innovation and holistic development. The successful candidate will be expected to lead research initiatives, secure funding, and mentor postgraduate students towards the completion of their degrees.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer or in an equivalent senior academic position.
• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
• Postgraduate Supervision: Demonstrated evidence of having supervised to completion a minimum of four (4) postgraduate students, including at least one (1) doctoral student, during their tenure as a Senior Lecturer or Senior Research Fellow.
• Research and Publications: A minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points earned as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent; at least thirty-two (32) of these points must be from refereed scholarly journals.
• Resource Mobilization: Proven ability to attract research or development funds or educational resources since their last promotion.
• Community Service: Evidence of active participation in and contribution to community service.
