Assistant Research Officer – Epidemiologist/Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare longitudinal, facility-period epidemiological datasets for mortality, severe morbidity, coverage, readiness, and workforce indicators.
• Apply protocol-defined inclusion criteria and variable transformations to research data.
• Compute routine epidemiological indicators, including mortality rates/ratios, effective coverage components, and admission severity profiles.
• Produce descriptive analyses and outputs for trend assessment, quarterly snapshots, and facility-level dashboards.
• Support interrupted time series and counterfactual modelling workflows.
• Contribute summary statistics to quarterly technical updates and annual reports.
• Support the implementation science workstream by generating routine process indicators and visualisations for facility feedback.
• Summarise Quality Improvement (QI) findings, operational disruptions, and facility readiness constraints into structured contextual notes.
• Maintain reproducible analysis notebooks and documentation, supporting improvements to data structures and quality control workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Public Health (Mandatory).
• At least one year of experience in a research-related environment with applied analysis of routine data (Mandatory).
• Proficiency in statistical software (R or Stata), data visualization, and meticulous quality control (Mandatory).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
