An officer at this level will be deployed in the Sales, Marketing, or Nairobi liaison Office function. The role is pivotal in driving the commercial success of Agro-Chemical and Food Company Limited (ACFC) by developing and implementing robust sales and distribution strategies, managing market awareness, and maintaining high-level stakeholder relations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Functions
- Coordinate the development of company sales and distribution strategies in liaison with the Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Coordinate the development and communication of sales targets.
- Spearhead maintenance of an up-to-date sales system to facilitate selling (sales ledger, logbooks, dispatch stocks availability, and sales reconciliations).
- Facilitate the preparation, maintenance, and submission of monthly sales performance reports against targets.
- Ensure one-to-one relationships with potential and existing customers.
- Qualify leads generated from marketing activities and evaluate their potential.
- Maintain detailed records on sales calls, opportunities, closed sales, and customers.
- Ensure compilation and review of company-wide sales reports on a regular basis.
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of professional sales proposals.
- Oversee the provision of after-sales technical support.
- Liaise with internal departments (Production, Finance, and Supply Chain) regarding Sales Order Processing.
- Maintain customer satisfaction and product/service profitability through effective communication and service improvement activities.
Marketing Functions
- Create awareness for company products and services in the marketplace.
- Coordinate the preparation of messaging and maximize effectiveness through strategic media selection.
- Coordinate promotional campaigns, trade shows, and conferences.
- Conduct market and customer research to inform business decisions.
- Coordinate the publicity and promotion of ACFC products.
- Manage the creation and selection of content for advertising, promotions, and online materials.
- Implement market research findings and manage lead and customer databases.
- Coordinate activities between departments involved in the product lifecycle (design, testing, production, marketing, and support).
Nairobi Liaison Office Functions
- Oversee all sales and marketing activities within the Nairobi Office.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholder officials regarding the sale of ACFC products.
- Provide assistance to ACFC customers through relevant stakeholders.
- Supervise all staff and their activities within the Nairobi Liaison Office.
- Oversee marketing plans, advertising, research, and standard compliance for products at the Nairobi office.
- Manage monthly and ad-hoc reporting for the Sales and Marketing function, including budgetary control.
- Maintain direct contact with company stakeholders, leaders, and the public to build confidence and influence public opinion.
- Coordinate corporate events and external visits at the Nairobi office.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum eight (8) years’ work experience in a marketing field, with at least three (3) years at a supervisory level in either the public or private sector.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Commerce (Marketing option), Marketing, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Commerce (Marketing option), Marketing, or an equivalent qualification.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
- Completion of a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Registration and membership with a relevant professional body.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Valid driving license.
- Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya regarding integrity.
