This position is responsible for the implementation of forestry projects and programmes within the Sub-county. The role involves promoting tree growing initiatives, managing tree nurseries, and conducting inspections for pests and diseases. The Assistant Forest Officer III will work closely with communities to build capacity and disseminate essential forestry management information.
Key Responsibilities
Promote collaboration in the implementation of forestry projects and Programmes in the Sub-county.
Initiate capacity building and backstopping on community mobilization on tree growing.
Collate and disseminate forestry management information in the Sub-county.
Promote tree nursery establishment and management.
Inspect, assess, and scout for tree pests, diseases, and trees that may need pruning or felling.
Participate in field days, demonstrations, agricultural shows, and exhibitions.
Prepare and implement performance contracts, work plans, and budgets.
Compile sectional periodic reports.
Requirements
Diploma in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Agroforestry & Landscape Biodiversity, Natural Resources Management, or Environmental Management from a recognised institution.
Certificate in computer application skills.
Satisfy Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.
This is a new appointment (Entry-level).
