Role Overview\nThis position is responsible for the implementation of crops projects, programmes and activities in the Sub County. The Agricultural Officer plays a critical role in promoting collaboration, managing information dissemination, and building community capacity to enhance agricultural development within Nairobi City County.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Promote collaboration in the implementation of projects and programmes in the subcounty.\n- Initiate capacity building and backstopping on community mobilization in area of specialization.\n- Disseminate agricultural information and establish/manage agricultural information desks.\n- Promote consultative forums with various stakeholders and collaborators within the Subcounty.\n- Organize field days, demonstrations, and tours, and participate in agricultural shows and exhibitions.\n- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of crops extension services in the wards.\n- Participate in implementing the performance contract and prepare/implement work plans.\n- Collate, analyze, store, and disseminate crop production information and assess trends.\n- Mainstream cross-cutting issues affecting crop development.\n- Compile sectional periodic reports.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture and Rural Development, Home Economics, Crop production, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agri-business, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension & Education, or Nutrition & Dietetics from a recognised institution.\n- Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution.\n- This role is open to new appointments or agricultural in-post designates (originally Diploma holders who have attained a Bachelor's degree).\n- Candidates must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.\n\n### Skills & Competencies\n- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n- Excellent organizational and negotiation abilities.\n- Effective problem-solving skills.\n- Ability to build and lead cohesive teams.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Nairobi City County Public Service Board recruitment portal at .
