CABI is seeking an Agri Digital Tools Coordinator to lead the promotion and adoption of its suite of digital advisory tools. This role involves establishing networks with high-profile agricultural organizations and developing strategies to maximize the reach of tools like the CABI Bio Protection Portal and the Crop Sprayer App to service providers and smallholder farmers.
Role Purpose
The Agri Digital Tools Coordinator will conduct stakeholder analysis, establish networks with agricultural organizations (FPOs, NGOs, Cooperatives), and identify prioritization for collaboration. You will be responsible for developing communication materials, monitoring tool usage for impact assessment, and representing CABI at industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Analysis & Networking: Conduct stakeholder analysis and establish a network with agricultural organisations at national, international, and community levels (FPOs, NGOs, Farmer Associations & Cooperatives).
- Collaboration & Prioritization: Identify and prioritise organisations to collaborate with on the promotion of the CABI suite of digital advisory tools (CABI Bio Protection Portal and Crop Sprayer App).
- Communication Channels: Identify appropriate communication channels (e.g. social media, radio, WhatsApp groups, Telegram) to maximise reach in relevant languages.
- Content Development: Develop communication materials including online and face-to-face training, social media messaging, flyers, posters, and video instructional clips.
- Monitoring & Impact: Monitor usage of tools to assess impact and calculate return on investment (ROI).
- Thought Leadership: Attend leading national industry events and conferences to deliver presentations promoting digital advisory tools and biopesticide utilization.
- Sustainability: Recommend biocontrol manufacturers and private sector sponsors for portal partnerships to contribute to project sustainability.
- Digital Engagement: Use social media (LinkedIn/Twitter) to raise CABI’s profile and drive tool engagement.
- Budget & Reporting: Manage budget and spend, reporting performance against targets regularly.
- Process Improvement: Develop and own processes for managing activity progress and improving efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, marketing, digital technology, communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Over 5 years’ experience working with and communicating with agro-advisory service providers and farmers in Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Zambia.
- Marketing: Proven experience in marketing digital tools or products, with a strong understanding of marketing concepts and strategies.
- Partnerships: Demonstrated ability to manage and cultivate partnerships with external organizations and stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge or experience in the agriculture or agribusiness sector is highly desirable.
- Languages: Fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of African languages is advantageous.
- Travel: Available to travel extensively across Africa.

- Ability to work on own initiative and meet targets within budget.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
