Job Description
Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. The institute is currently seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant to support the PBIDS 2.0 project activities in Kisumu. The role involves managing logistics, procurement, and administrative functions to ensure the smooth operation of field activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Coordination: Manage and coordinate project supplies for PBIDS 2.0 activities across main sites including Kisumu, Nairobi, and Isiolo, as well as additional Detect sites.
Procurement Support: Collaborate with field team leads to initiate and track procurement requests. Verify that goods and services are delivered on time, meet specifications, and that invoices match delivered items.
Inventory Management: Maintain a current stock database to track all incoming and outgoing inventory.
Financial Administration: Assist in verifying field office invoices and bills before payment processing. Participate in budget preparation for supplies, workshops, and transport.
Administrative Support: Attend project meetings, prepare relevant correspondence, and ensure day-to-day smooth operations of departmental administrative functions.
Vacancy Requirements
Education: A Diploma in Business Administration, Management, Fleet Management, Public Administration, Purchasing and Supplies Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications.
Soft Skills: Strong planning, communication, and reporting skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
