The Accounts Assistant (Budgeting & Reporting) is responsible for ensuring accurate and quality revenue capture and protection in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and prevailing Accounting Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis: Gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial data from diverse sources including budgets, income statements, and balance sheets.
Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing variances against the budget, and reporting on overall financial performance.
Collaboration: Working across various teams to gather necessary data, provide analysis, and ensure financial alignment throughout the organization.
Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential financial risks and developing proactive mitigation strategies.
Financial Analysis: Interpreting financial data and trends to identify potential risks and growth opportunities.
Cost Management: Analyzing costs to identify areas for potential savings and contributing to the development of cost reduction strategies.
Variance Analysis: Conducting detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual results and forecasts, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Reporting & Presentations: Presenting financial models and reports to the management accountant, clearly explaining financial issues and risks, and providing recommendations to support informed business decisions.
Other Duties: Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in alignment with the job role.
Key Deliverables
Achieving 100% accuracy in financial reporting and revenue recognition.
Demonstrating strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
Maintaining expertise in relevant financial software, particularly Excel.
Demonstrating overall proficiency in accounting principles.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
Professional certification: CPA II or ACCA.
Proven data analytical skills.
Minimum of 3 years' work experience specifically in Finance and Accounts.
High attention to detail and precision.
