The Nakuru County Government is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Accountant II. This role is an essential part of the county's financial management team, focusing on the accurate recording and processing of financial data. The scope and complexity of the work will increase as the officer gains more experience and training. Initially, the officer will work under close guidance, especially when handling new tasks, and will be responsible for the safe custody of financial records and assets assigned to them.
Responsibilities
Preparation and verification of vouchers in accordance with the established financial rules and regulations.
Performing primary data entry into accounting systems.
Carrying out routine accounting tasks such as the balancing of cashbooks.
Managing and balancing imprest and advances ledgers.
Ensuring the safe custody of all financial records and assets under their control.
Assisting in any other accounting duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
A pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its recognized equivalent qualification.
OR A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), or Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution or any other relevant equivalent qualification.
Must possess proficiency in computer application skills.
