We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to take charge of comprehensive financial management for project-based operations. The role is critical for ensuring the fiscal health of specific projects through meticulous budget management, cost tracking, and accurate financial forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
Budget & Cost Management: Manage project budgets, track costs, and perform financial forecasting. Monitor project costs to identify variances and discover cost-saving opportunities.
Financial Performance: Prepare and monitor project cash flow and overall financial performance.
Payroll Oversight: Oversee payroll processing for project staff, ensuring high accuracy and full compliance with regulations.
Transactional Oversight: Manage accounts payable and receivable specifically related to projects. Review and approve contractor invoices and payment certificates.
Reporting & Analysis: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, and project-by-project basis. Provide financial insights and reports to senior management.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal company policies.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate financial records and documentation.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders. Support procurement and contract financial management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA / ACCA qualification (preferred or in progress).
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments.
Strong experience in project accounting, payroll, and financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting expertise.
Strong understanding of cost control and budgeting.
