Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash management.
• Review and authorize payment vouchers and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.
• Oversee accurate posting of invoices, receipts, and payments into the accounting system.
• Prepare and review supplier statements and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Maintain and review cashbooks and support daily cash position monitoring.
• Perform and review weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Monitor invoicing, collections, and customer account balances.
• Prepare monthly expense schedules, summaries, and management reports.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT and other applicable taxes.
• Maintain proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls and procedures.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior finance staff.
• Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision.
