Role Overview
Nova Pioneer Education Group is a Pan-African independent school network offering preschool through secondary education for students from ages 3 through 19. We prepare the next generation of leaders and innovators through world-class teaching methods with an emphasis on 21st-century skills. We are looking for passionate individuals to join the 2026 Teaching Internship program at our Tatu International School.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Environment: Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable and supported.
Activity Planning: Plan and execute appropriate activities for students each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work, and lesson plans.
Resource Provision: Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use in both learning activities and imaginative play.
Safety Monitoring: Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
Student Development: Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games.
Classroom Preparation: Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning, motor-skill activities, and safety.
Progress Evaluation: Observe and evaluate each child’s progress and provide written reports to the Principal, school leaders, and parents.
Record Keeping: Monitor and keep records/reports of the children’s progress and development.
Adaptive Instruction: Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Classroom Culture: Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
Experiential Learning: Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities.
Professional Development: Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Currently enrolled in or have completed a teacher training course (Bachelor of Education, Primary Teacher Education, ECDE, etc.).
Recommendations: Strong recommendations from your high school, teacher training institution, and/or an educational institution you have worked with.
Aspiration: A desire to join Nova Pioneer as a full-time employee when the opportunity arises.
Passion: A genuine passion for working with and developing children.
Technical Skills: Good working skills with technology such as G-Suite, Zoom, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Communication: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Growth Mindset: Flexible and open to change; handles uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity well.
Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and addressing them thoroughly.
Cultural Fit: Excited about our organizational culture, including embracing mutual vulnerability and receiving continuous feedback.
Leadership: A desire to further develop leadership skills to transform the lives of African youth.
