Our client in the Telecommunications sector seeks to recruit a Zonal Sales Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling and managing the distribution of communication products and services (Airtime, SIM Cards, Mobile Financial Services & Devices) to resellers and distributors within the assigned territory. The role requires identifying and facilitating the optimization of opportunities to drive sales as maximally and efficiently as possible within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Targets: Achieve the Sales (Revenue) targets of the Territory – both Mobile & MFS (Mobile Financial Services).
Customer Acquisition: Achieve Customer Base targets via strategic acquisition drives.
Channel Management: Drive Channel Specific Agenda in line with Company targets – ASOs, SSOs, Agencies.
Site Profitability: Achieve Site Profitability targets within the Territory via Site-based activities & programs.
Capability Building: Oversee & drive the people capability agenda across all levels – TDRs, DSAs, Commandoes.
Customer Experience: Ensure customer expectations regarding standard of services & product knowledge are met, both in Stores & in Partner stores.
Market Intelligence: Monitor the activities of competition and prepare counter action plans.
Reporting: Prepare and submit reports as required.
Key Deliverables
Partner management: Ensuring channel partners are engaged and effectively driving brands on the ground.
Sales targets: Delivering assigned sales targets on revenues, airtime, gross additions, data, and devices.
Team management: Managing field agents and partner team output (DSAs, Commandoes) as per business objectives.
Visibility: Ensuring partner outlets, trade, and general market visibility.
Availability: Ensuring availability of products and services within the markets/areas.
Reporting: Sharing reports as required.
Requirements & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2 - 3 years’ experience in a sales and distribution role in Telco/FMCG sector.
Key Competencies: Customer focus, influencing and negotiation skills, networking and building partnerships, analytical thinking, sales management, route-to-market management, planning and organization, and reporting.
