Job Description
Bungoma County is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Vocational and Technical Trainer Assistant III specializing in Welding and Fabrication. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering technical instruction, managing workshop resources, and ensuring the holistic development of trainees within the vocational training framework.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct trainees in welding and fabrication in accordance with the approved syllabus.
Prepare and maintain essential instructional records, including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and teaching/learning materials.
Conduct regular trainee assessments both within the classroom environment and during industrial attachments.
Coordinate the storage, care, maintenance, and proper utilization of workshop tools, equipment, and learning materials.
Organize and lead co-curricular activities for trainees to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
Maintain trainee discipline through proactive guiding and counseling sessions.
Induct and provide supervision for newly deployed instructors within the department.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
A Diploma in a relevant technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering (Production/Welding and Fabrication option) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Formal training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
Must be registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
