Role Overview
Bungoma County is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Vocational and Technical Trainer Assistant III specializing in Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy. This role involves instructing trainees in vocational training centers, ensuring they acquire the necessary technical skills in alignment with the national syllabus. There are 14 available posts for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct trainees in Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy in accordance with the approved syllabus.
Prepare and maintain essential professional documents including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and teaching/learning materials.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date trainee records.
Carry out regular trainee assessments within the classroom environment and during industrial attachments.
Coordinate the storage, care, maintenance, and proper usage of all teaching and learning materials, tools, and equipment.
Organize and conduct co-curricular activities for trainees to ensure holistic development.
Maintain trainee discipline through consistent guiding, counseling, and mentorship.
Induct and supervise newly deployed instructors to maintain training quality and standards.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this grade, a candidate must possess:
A Diploma in any of the following technical disciplines: Computer Studies/Science, Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Building and Construction, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, Clothing, Fashion Design and Textile Technology, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
Valid registration by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
