Role Overview
Bungoma County is seeking to recruit 14 Vocational and Technical Trainer Assistants specialized in Electrical Engineering. This role is essential for delivering technical skills to trainees within the county's vocational training centers, ensuring that the next generation of technicians is well-equipped for the labor market.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction: Conduct teaching in Electrical Engineering and other areas of specialization as per the approved syllabus.
Academic Planning: Prepare and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, teaching/learning materials, and comprehensive trainee records.
Assessment: Evaluate trainee progress through regular classroom assessments and monitoring during industrial attachments.
Resource Management: Oversee the storage, care, maintenance, and proper usage of all workshop tools, equipment, and learning materials.
Student Support: Conduct co-curricular activities and provide guidance, counseling, and discipline management for trainees.
Supervision: Assist in the induction and supervision of newly deployed instructors to maintain institutional standards.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Education: Hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. (Equivalent diplomas in Computer Studies/Science, ICT, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Building and Construction, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy, or Clothing/Fashion Design are also recognized for this grade).
Pedagogy: Must have received training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
Registration: Must be a registered member with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
