Mount Kenya University (MKU) is a fully fledged chartered university committed to a broad-based, wholistic and inclusive system of education. The Visiting Lecturer in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) will deliver lectures and facilitate learning sessions within the Medical School.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and facilitate learning sessions in ENT specialization in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Prepare and submit teaching materials, lesson plans, and learning resources for assigned courses.
Administer Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, practical assessments, and examinations.
Set, invigilate, and mark examinations and submit results within stipulated timelines.
Provide students with academic guidance, mentorship, and support in their areas of study.
Ensure effective delivery of course content through appropriate teaching methodologies.
Maintain accurate student attendance records, assessment records, and academic progress reports.
Keep abreast of developments and emerging trends within the relevant academic or professional field.
Participate in curriculum review and academic quality assurance activities.
Engage in scholarly and professional activities including research, publications, and conferences.
Comply with University policies, academic regulations, and professional standards.
Requirements
Masters of Medicine in ENT or relevant area of specialization from a recognized academic institution.
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
At least three (3) years of teaching and research experience at a university.
Relevant work experience in the medical industry.
Registered and licensed to practice by the Relevant Professional Body (KMPDC).
An earned PhD degree qualification or being registered/registrable for a PhD is an added advantage.
