Job Description
This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influences theory and practice in the field of Oncology Nursing. This role serves as the entry grade for Master’s degree holders into the academic cadre at Grade XI. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic excellence of the university through instruction, research, and community service.
Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and national/international learned conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students and their research projects.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and coordinate research activities in subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
Participate in curriculum development and review processes.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development in their specialization.
Prepare, administer, and manage examinations.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school as appropriate.
Participate in the development and review of academic programmes.
Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars.
Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Evidence of registration for a PhD.
An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Registration with a relevant professional body (where applicable) and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach or Engagement.
Possess relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies.
