Job Description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influence theory and practice in a given field. This is the entry-level grade for Master's degree holders entering this academic cadre.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and participating in national and international conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students in their research projects.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and lead/coordinate research activities in subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions locally and internationally.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development.
Handle examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
Undertake community outreach activities.
Provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Participate in the development and review of academic programmes.
Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars.
Requirements and Qualifications
Evidence of registration for a PhD.
An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Registration with a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Possession of relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies.
