Tutorial Fellow - Grade XI (Food Technology)

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching: Undertake teaching duties at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Research: Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively. Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and presenting at national and international conferences.
• Student Supervision: Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students in their research activities.
• Funding: Write and submit proposals for research and development funding.
• Academic Leadership: Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and lead/coordinate research activities within the subject area.
• Collaboration: Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions both within and outside the university.
• Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and review of academic programs and curricula.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development within their specialization.
• Administration: Handle examination preparation, administration, and management. Participate in the administration and management of departmental programs and activities.
• Community Outreach: Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership within the department or school as required.
• Professional Development: Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars, and perform any other related duties assigned by the university.

Job Specification and Requirements

• PhD Status: Must provide evidence of registration for a PhD program.
• Academic Qualifications: Must hold an earned Master's Degree and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited and recognized University.
• Research Output: At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
• Professional Membership: Be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable) and be in good standing.
• Community Service: Provide evidence of Community Outreach or Engagement.
• Competencies: Possess relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies for university-level instruction.
