This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influences theory and practice in the field of Clinical Medicine. As an entry-grade role for Master's degree holders into the academic cadre, the Tutorial Fellow contributes to the university's academic excellence through instruction, mentoring, and research development.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and presenting at national and international learned conferences.
Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students in their research activities.
Write proposals for research and development funding.
Contribute significantly to the development of academic policies and lead research activities in specific subject areas.
Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development.
Handle examination preparation, administration, and management.
Participate in the administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Job Requirements
Evidence of registration for a PhD.
An earned Master's Degree and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited and recognized university.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Registration with a relevant professional body (where applicable) and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Relevant knowledge, skills, and academic competencies.
