Kenyatta University is a leading public university in Kenya. The Department of Psychology is seeking a Tutorial Fellow to contribute to teaching, academic research, and the development of study programs. This position is offered on a one-year renewable contract for up to three years, intended for professionals committed to advancing their academic careers through doctoral studies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching: Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
Program Development: Design, develop, plan, and deliver a range of programs of study, including new courses at various academic levels.
Curriculum Management: Regularly review and update course content and materials.
Collaboration: Work with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and research activities.
Research: Conduct research, write grant proposals, and disseminate research outputs through various channels.
Professional Engagement: Participate in consultancies and present research papers at national and international conferences.
Mentorship: Provide career guidance and mentorship to students and staff.
General Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or outlined in the detailed job description.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Kenya Counseling and Psychologists Board.
Work Experience: At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
Academic Commitment: Applicant must be prepared to pursue a PhD in the specified area of specialization.
Preferred Attributes: Teaching experience at the university level and existing registration for a PhD degree will be considered added advantages.
Terms of Service
A competitive remuneration package including basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover under the University Scheme.
Employment is on a one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of three (3) years.
