ECDE Teacher

Missions of Hope International (MOHI) is a Christ-centered, non-governmental organization that serves orphaned and vulnerable children, their families and others in the Mathare Valley slums of Nairobi and other disadvantaged communities throughout Kenya.\n\n### Overall Job Purpose\nThe position is responsible for teaching and offering holistic development, proper discipline, appropriate skills and social abilities to enable optimum development of pupils. The position provides responsibility for exam materials including report books, evaluation records, class registers, record books, lesson note books, records of work, and schemes of work.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Execution of the integrated curriculum and consistent use of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) Design.\n- Timely preparation and maintenance of up-to-date professional records.\n- Regular assessment of learners and tracking their development progress.\n- Effective teaching, learner involvement, and general management of the classroom environment.\n- Managing weekly school duties and overseeing class co-curricular activities.\n- Providing pastoral care, discipline, guidance, and counseling to students.\n- Serving as a role model and mentor to other teachers and as a guardian to pupils.\n- Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- Minimum of an ECDE Certificate or Diploma from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).\n- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).\n- Solid training and experience in teaching the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).\n- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.\n- Must be technologically savvy.\n- Willingness to work in any of MOHI’s centers across Kenya.
