The University of Embu (UoEm) is inviting applications for the position of Tutorial Fellow in Art and Design. This role is intended for individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence and are on the path toward completing their doctoral studies. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic and research excellence of the institution.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality lectures and practical tutorials to undergraduate students in the Art and Design department.
Support the development and review of curriculum and instructional materials.
Participate in research activities, publish scholarly papers, and attend academic conferences.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students in their academic and creative pursuits.
Assist in the administration of examinations, including marking and grading.
Collaborate with departmental staff on administrative duties and university-wide committees.
Maintain substantial progress in PhD studies to ensure timely completion of the doctorate.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree of at least Second Class Upper Division from a recognized university in Art and Design or a related specialty.
Master’s Degree: Must possess a Master’s degree from a recognized university in the area of specialty.
PhD Status: Applicants MUST be registered for a PhD degree and have made substantial progress in their PhD studies.
Evidence of Progress: A PhD progress report or equivalent documentation MUST be submitted as part of the application.
