Job Description
About the Role
The Tupande Machine Operation and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the setup and efficient day-to-day operation of all machinery in the facility to produce high-quality dried fruit. This role involves monitoring maintenance activities to ensure continuous production and equipment longevity.
Key Responsibilities
Dryer Operations & Monitoring
Manage dryers during day and night shifts, monitor specific dryer parameters, and maintain detailed dryer logs.
Report any malfunctions and lead the troubleshooting process.
Track power outages or interruptions and ensure clear handover reports after each shift.
Pallet Trolleys Operation
Support the operation of pallet trolleys when moving fruits for processing.
Maintenance & Quality Control
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of all machines, ensuring up-to-date records to prevent breakdowns.
Monitor the quality of dried fruit and adjust machines as necessary to maintain product standards.
Oversee all maintenance works within the factory.
Troubleshooting & Safety Compliance
Diagnose and resolve mechanical or process-related issues during production.
Adhere to all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Record Keeping & Team Collaboration
Maintain accurate records of production data, machine performance, and maintenance activities.
Work closely with supervisors and quality control staff to meet production targets and maintain quality.
Train and manage machine operators.
Continuous Improvement & Utility Tracking
Suggest and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency.
Track water and electricity usage in the factory to ensure efficient functionality.

Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Background: Minimum of a Diploma or Professional Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or specialized training in vocational machinery operation.
Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in food processing and handling machinery.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
Soft Skills: Attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively within warehouse and production teams.
Time Management: Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within operational schedules.
Eligibility: This role is only open to citizens or permanent residents of Kenya.
