Job Description
The role of Transport Assistant IV at the County Government of Kitui is a permanent and pensionable position responsible for supporting the efficient administration, maintenance, and safe operation of the County's fleet of motor vehicles and plant. This role involves rigorous record keeping, schedule implementation, and ensuring compliance with operational standards and insurance requirements.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh. 23,700 x 1,040 – 24,740 x 1,070 – 25,810 x 1,090 – 26,900 x 1,110 – 28,010 x 1,120 – 29,130 x 1,150 – 30,280 x 1,170 – 31,450 per month.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in providing guidance for the proper use and safe operations of motor vehicles and plant.
Establish and maintain fleet management records for utilization of all motor vehicles and plant.
Ensure accurate maintenance of work tickets.
Ensure overall cleanliness of vehicles and plant.
Establish and implement maintenance schedules for vehicles and plant.
Ensure that all vehicles and plant are insured.
Assist in implementing fleet administration operating standards.
Assist in initiating and directing fleet risk management training on safety and accident prevention programmes for drivers and plant operators.
Requirements for Appointment
Citizenship: Be a Kenyan Citizen.
Education: Have a Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, Business Management, Finance, Statistics, Entrepreneurship, Engineering or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Technical Skills: Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
