As the Transactional Banking (TB) Sales Manager for Financial Institutions (FI), you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and delivering high-quality banking solutions to an assigned portfolio of clients. Your role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, promoting the bank's network and product capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance within the FI sector.
Key Accountabilities
Sales (70%)
- Revenue Delivery: Accountable for the delivery of TB revenues from the assigned portfolio of clients in the Financial Institutions sector.
- Strategy Execution: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue ambitions through existing and target clients.
- Client Penetration: Increase client penetration and revenues by actively promoting the bank’s network and product capabilities through cross-selling. Replicate successful Transactional Banking solutions across the portfolio.
- Performance Management: Lead the team to achieve quantitative and qualitative performance objectives, leveraging sales tools for pipeline management and account planning.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank products and capabilities to structure effective client solutions.
- Objective Setting: Set SMART individual objectives aligned with overall business goals.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate with Customer Support, product development, and customer services teams across the Absa Group to drive alignment on TB priorities.
- Values & Standards: Role model behaviors that demonstrate bank values and maintain high performance standards.
Service & Operational Rigor (30%)
- Customer Service: Collaborate with local and group FI operations teams to deliver world-class customer service and adhere to Absa service standards.
- Account Planning: Work with FI coverage teams to develop relationship account plans for customer portfolios.
- Operational Excellence: Achieve excellence in operational rigor, ensuring 100% compliance with all procedures and processes.
- Risk Mitigation: Minimize fraud potential by strictly following product criteria.
- Pricing & Collection: Ensure all pricing is authorized by the Transaction Banking Head and correctly implemented for 100% collection.
- Product Setup: Follow end-to-end product set-up processes to ensure authorized and accurate client configurations.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with operational risk and rigor requirements, including Health & Safety standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Postgraduate or equivalent academic qualifications.
- General Experience: Over 5 years of professional experience in the banking sector.
- Specialized Experience: A significant majority of banking experience must be specifically in Cash and Trade services.
