BURN designs, manufactures, and distributes aspirational fuel-efficient cooking products that save lives and forests in the developing world. Since 2013, BURN has sold 200,000+ high-quality, locally manufactured, and unsubsidized cookstoves, proving the business case for sustainable energy solutions. We are seeking a Training Officer to lead the design and implementation of training programs for our commercial and field operations.
Responsibilities
Training Design & Delivery: Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding and refresher training programs for commercial and field teams.
Content Creation: Develop diverse training materials, including presentations, job aids, and assessments.
Functional Training: Train teams on specific product features, sales processes, customer engagement strategies, and compliance requirements.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Product, Commercial, and Operations teams to translate technical or process updates into accessible training content.
Field Evaluation: Conduct field visits to observe performance, identify skill gaps, and provide direct coaching to staff.
Metrics & Reporting: Track training effectiveness through assessments and performance indicators while maintaining detailed training records and outcomes.
Change Management: Support the rollout of new products or process changes through structured, impactful training sessions.
Requirements
Qualification: Minimum of a BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in training, facilitation, or sales enablement roles.
Skills: Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
Travel: High willingness to travel for field-based training activities.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in field-based commercial operations, renewable energy, or the cookstove sector is highly desirable.
Methodology: Familiarity with adult learning principles and data-driven assessment of training impact.
Tools: Proficiency in Learning Management System (LMS) tools.
