Mount Kenya University (MKU) is seeking a qualified Assistant Registrar for Teaching Programmes at its Nairobi Campus. Reporting to the Director, Nairobi Campus, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating academic schedules, monitoring instructional delivery, and ensuring compliance with university standards. The role serves as a critical link between academic departments and administrative units to ensure the smooth execution of teaching programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination: Coordinate, schedule, and manage all teaching programmes, including lectures, tutorials, practicals, and examinations, ensuring strict alignment with the academic calendar.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor teaching delivery, lecturer performance, and student attendance. Identify and report any deviations or issues to campus management.
Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of teaching schedules, course coverage, lecturer workloads, and student attendance.
Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with departments, academic staff, and administrative units to resolve teaching-related issues and facilitate programme implementation.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive periodic reports on teaching performance, programme execution, and compliance with university policies and quality standards.
Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties that may be assigned by the leadership from time to time.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Must have at least three (3) years of professional experience in Grade 8 or a comparable position within a university setting.
Must possess relevant professional qualifications/certifications.
Strong organizational and scheduling capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
