KCA University is seeking a Trainer – Financial and Management Accounting to facilitate quality learning through teaching, administration, and academic advisory work. The objective is to ensure an outstanding student learning experience by delivering curriculum-aligned content and supporting students throughout their professional journey.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Facilitation: Deliver learning through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials as assigned.
Assessment Management: Participate in the development, administration, and marking of exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
Academic Policies: Participate in the development and implementation of academic policies.
Learning Resources: Assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
Inventory Management: Assist in the requisition and management of inventories, tools, and equipment used as learning resources.
Student Advisory: Provide advice, guidance, and feedback to students to support their professional progress and refer students to support services as appropriate.
Coursework Supervision: Participate in supervising and assisting students with their coursework.
Research: Participate in writing research proposals and applying for research grants in the relevant areas of the course.
Pastoral Care: Provide academic advising and counseling to students.
Collaborative Development: Contribute to departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration.
Committees: Contribute to departmental, faculty, or university-wide working groups or committees.
Professional Growth: Undertake continuous professional development and training activities.
Records Maintenance: Maintain proper records of student examinations and assignments, ensuring they are keyed into the management system timely.
Representation: Represent the university positively to prospective students and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from an accredited and recognized university.
At least 3 years’ teaching experience at the tertiary level in Accounting and Finance subjects.
Pedagogical training or proof of admission for a pedagogical course.
Professional certification by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB).
Professional membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
A Master’s degree in Business Administration is an added advantage.
