Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking to recruit a Trade Development Representative (TDR) to be based in Nanyuki. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the primary focus of this role is to conduct channel visitations to drive retailer awareness and turnaround on SIMs and Float. The successful candidate will ensure high visibility and effective merchandising at the point of purchase for SSOs and T-Kash agents.
Key Responsibilities
SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping: Effectively manage the identification and recruitment of Agents, targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Route Management: Visit SSOs and Agents regularly using agreed-upon route plans (beat plans) to ensure consistent service and engagement.
Training and Tool Delivery: Provide all requisite tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and train SSOs and TKash Agents on business processes.
Compliance Training: Conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training and testing for agents and train SSOs on the Know Your Customer (KYC) process in relation to SIM registration (SIMREG).
Stock & Float Management: Monitor and enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents and ensure SSOs have adequate SIM stock for new registrations and activations.
Merchandising: Develop and maintain merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of promotional materials at all SSO and Agent outlets.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role within the FMCG or Telecommunications sectors.
Competencies: Strong customer focus, proven influencing and negotiation skills, ability to network and build partnerships, and analytical thinking.
