Role Overview
Our client is a leading destination management company with a strong presence across East and Southern Africa, recognized for delivering high-quality, tailor-made travel experiences. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to guide and inspire a team of Tour Consultants. This role is central to ensuring seamless service delivery, efficient booking processes, and high levels of client satisfaction while driving team performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management: Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Tour Consultants to deliver exceptional service.
Operations Oversight: Oversee daily reservations operations, including workload planning and performance monitoring.
Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quotations, bookings, and travel documentation.
Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, partners, and key stakeholders.
Financial Management: Manage bookings within Tourplan, ensuring accuracy in costing, margins, and invoicing.
Revenue Support: Support revenue optimization through effective margin management and supplier negotiations.
Team Development: Coordinate team schedules, performance reviews, and ongoing development initiatives.
Workflow Coordination: Ensure smooth operational handovers and adherence to booking timelines.
Performance Expectations
Deliver timely responses to client requests and efficient turnaround of quotations.
Maintain high levels of accuracy in bookings and documentation.
Drive strong booking conversion and revenue performance.
Ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient booking processes.
Foster high customer satisfaction and positive agent feedback.
Build and maintain a high-performing, accountable, and motivated team.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Tourism, or Customer Service Management.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in the tourism industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ICT systems, specifically essential experience with Tourplan.
Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of East African tourism products and market dynamics.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
