As a Telecoms Design Engineer at Tatu City Limited, you will be responsible for designing and managing end-to-end telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves working with fiber, wireless, and data center technologies to ensure high-performance connectivity within the urban land development project. You will develop network topologies, prepare technical documentation, and ensure systems uptime of 99.9%+ for Rendeavour ICT systems.
Key Responsibilities
Telecommunications Network Design & Architecture: Design end-to-end telecom infrastructure, including fiber, wireless, and data centers. Develop network topologies, prepare technical documentation, conduct site surveys, and perform capacity and performance calculations.
Network Infrastructure Implementation & Management: Manage daily operations, monitoring, and support for LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN networks while ensuring security. Configure and oversee GPON/XG-PON, Ethernet networks, and core routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS, implementing QoS policies to prioritize critical traffic.
Fiber Optic Network Operations & Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair fiber outages on GPON and Ethernet networks with utility teams, using OTDR testing for diagnostics. Manage fiber assets like FDHs, ODFs, and splitters, coordinate with civil teams on installations, and implement preventive maintenance programs.
ISP Core Network & Connectivity Management: Design and manage ISP core infrastructure, including border routers, switches, and peering. Optimize BGP routing, implement security measures, manage bandwidth, and ensure redundancy for continuous connectivity.
Systems Integration & Technical Infrastructure: Manage ERP, databases, and integrations; configure RADIUS/AAA; implement monitoring; maintain secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure; utilize AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud for hybrid and disaster recovery.
Performance Management & Compliance: Ensure 99.9%+ systems uptime, monitor KPIs, maintain compliance, and conduct audits for Rendeavour ICT systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in Telecommunications Network Design & Architecture.
Proficiency in network design tools such as Visio and AutoCAD.
Cisco, MikroTik, and Fiber Optic certifications are highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS.
Comprehensive understanding of GPON/XG-PON architecture and ITU-T standards.
Working experience with cloud computing, scripting, and network monitoring platforms.
