Kenyatta University is a multi-campus public university in Kenya. The university is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Technician Grade a/b within the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Section. This role is essential for supporting the department's laboratory operations, including student practicals and research activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare, standardize, and validate chemical solutions according to pharmacopoeial standards.
Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Assist in organizing and conducting practical sessions for students.
Manage laboratory inventory and maintain accurate records of supplies.
Ensure strict compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality control principles.
Assist in method development and validation processes.
Support faculty members in conducting research.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Applied Chemistry.
Demonstrated understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality control principles.
Demonstrated experience with analytical instrumentation.
Computer literacy.
Terms of Service
A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided. (Note: Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of three (3) years).
