Kenchic Limited is seeking a Technical Sales Representative for Day-Old Chicks (DOC) Sales. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to overall company profitability by achieving sales targets for chicks and other complementary products within an assigned area. The representative will drive volume through promotional activities, provide technical support to farmers, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for Day-Old Chicks (Broilers, Layers & Kenbro) and other products supplied by Kenchic.
Drive sales and profitability by implementing promotional activities, including farm visits, seminars, and livestock shows.
Promote and maintain quality standards by providing basic technical advice on poultry management, vaccines, and equipment to new and small-scale farmers.
Generate market intelligence reports on parameters impacting DOC sales and quality.
Monitor and record competitors' activities in the area of operation to keep management informed.
Maintain positive business relationships and monitor customer feedback to resolve complaints promptly.
Build and update a customer database to track loyalty and identify trends.
Implement regional poultry distribution plans to support appointed distributors and agents.
Manage and safeguard assigned funds, materials, and equipment efficiently.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Animal Science, Animal Production, or Animal Health.
Professional certification in Marketing is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years' work experience in a customer technical support role within the poultry industry.
Must be registered, retained, and holding a valid practicing license by the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).
