Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration. This role involves coordinating and monitoring all Supply Chain activities for the Regional Office and field missions within the East, Horn, and South Africa (EHSA) region to ensure high standards of efficiency and compliance. The officer will contribute to strategic procurement planning for the ReliefEU project and Regional Office operations, including request analysis and vendor evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Coordination and Monitoring: Oversee all Supply Chain activities performed by the Regional Office and on behalf of field missions in the EHSA region, verifying adherence to efficiency and compliance standards.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic procurement planning and monitoring for the ReliefEU project and Regional Office operations, including request analysis and meticulous vendor evaluation based on quality, prices, and delivery.
- Vendor Management: Critically manage and maintain the qualified supplier pool to ensure continuous and efficient supply aligned with organizational objectives.
- Internal Controls: Monitor the application of solid internal control systems and follow up on any non-adherence issues in Nairobi, particularly concerning ReliefEU stock management and movements.
- Asset Management: Implement effective systems for asset management, including regular monitoring of inventory, record-keeping for asset disposal, and coordination of approvals from Central Accounting Support (CAS) Manila.
- System Maintenance: Systematically review supply chain-related postings within the WAVE (Oracle) system originating from EHSA field missions, providing expert guidance and facilitating timely corrections or monthly housekeeping.
- Contractual Compliance: Implement exit strategies and verify that contractual requirements for all agreements, including Implementing Partner Agreements, are successfully monitored and closed.
Requirements
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience; OR
- University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience:
- Experience in managing diverse procurement and logistics operations.
- Demonstrated experience in training and managing large teams of co-workers and managing vendors/suppliers.
- Experience with warehouse inventory management processes.
- Specialized knowledge of logistics, asset, and stock inventory management.
