The Open University of Kenya (OUK) is seeking Supervisors for the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management program. OUK addresses limited capacity in traditional universities through innovative online and distance education methodologies, leveraging technology and flexible learning modes.
Role and Responsibilities
Supervisors will provide academic and research oversight to Masters and PhD candidates in Business Management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and research supervision to Masters and PhD candidates.
- Guide candidates in proposal development, research design, data collection, analysis, and thesis writing.
- Mentor candidates through virtual supervision on OUK's digital platforms.
- Ensure adherence to OUK's Graduate Studies Policy, research ethics, quality standards, and other University policies, including timelines.
- Provide timely feedback and progress reports as per institutional guidelines.
- Support preparation for thesis defense and publication of research outputs.
Required Qualifications
For appointment as a PhD supervisor, candidates MUST meet the following qualifications:
- An earned PhD in a relevant field from a recognised institution.
- At least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in the last five years.
- Strong digital mentoring and online engagement skills to effectively support learners in virtual environments.
- Familiarity and prior experience with online or virtual supervision will be an added advantage.
