The Store Technician/Store person is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of all products at the branch, while also providing basic technical support and product demonstrations to customers. This dual role suits a technically qualified individual who is equally comfortable managing physical stock and advising customers on solar and electrical product specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Store Management
- Receive all incoming stock, verify quantities and condition against delivery notes and purchase orders, and update the inventory system.
- Organize and maintain the storeroom: proper labelling, safe stacking, and logical product categorization.
- Prepare and dispatch products to customers with accurate documentation (delivery notes, gate passes).
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock against system records; report discrepancies to the Branch Manager.
- Monitor stock levels and raise timely requisitions to prevent stockouts of fast-moving items.
- Ensure proper handling of fragile items such as solar panels and inverters to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storeroom at all times.
Technical Support
- Provide basic technical guidance to customers on solar system sizing, product compatibility, and installation requirements.
- Demonstrate products (inverters, battery banks, charge controllers) on the shop floor when required.
- Assist in basic testing and quality checks of products before dispatch.
- Support the branch team in preparing technical quotations, BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and BOMs (Bills of Materials) for solar installations.
- Liaise with the EPC team (Safer Power Ltd.) on technical queries from customers when needed.
- Stay up to date on product specifications for Hanchu, Huawei, Deye, Jinko Solar, Safer Industries lithium batteries, and related products.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a solar, electrical, or technical store/warehouse environment.
- Working knowledge of solar PV systems: panels, inverters, MPPT charge controllers, lithium and lead-acid batteries.
- Experience with store management, inventory systems, or ERP software is an added advantage.
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics and solar system diagrams.
- Physical fitness to handle and move equipment including panels and battery banks.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and numerical accuracy.
- Good communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
