The role of the Specialist, Third Party Vendor Management is to provide specialist advice and operational support to the Vendor Management function, ensuring governance compliance and optimal performance of third-party vendors. The focus is on strategic relationship management, vendor risk mitigation, and strict adherence to procurement standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and robust reporting frameworks. The ultimate objective is to deliver consistent internal and external client experiences while driving cost efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in all vendor-related processes.
Qualifications
- Type of Qualification: First Degree (BA/BSc/HND).
- Field of Study: Business Commerce, Finance, Information Technology, or any other related field.
- Professional Certification (Preferred): CIPS, ITIL®V3, and COBIT5 frameworks.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Demonstrated use of vendor scorecards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and dashboards to track and improve vendor performance.
- Ability to lead performance review meetings and successfully implement corrective actions.
- Experience conducting comprehensive vendor risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards.
- Familiarity with audit processes and established reporting frameworks for third-party vendors.
- Direct experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships effectively, negotiate contracts, and enforce service level agreements (SLAs).
- Prior experience specifically within the banking, financial services, or technology sectors is highly desirable due to the strict compliance requirements and complex vendor ecosystems typical of these industries.
