Role Overview
Safaricom is seeking a Specialist for Budget, Inventory & Partner Management to join our team in Nairobi. This role is central to ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our enterprise programs. You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and management of CAPEX and OPEX budgets, overseeing partner performance and governance, and managing the entire lifecycle of inventory and assets. The role requires a blend of financial acumen, supply chain expertise, and project management skills within a fast-paced telecommunications environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Governance & Budgeting: Lead end-to-end planning and management of CAPEX and OPEX budgets across enterprise projects. Support annual budgeting cycles and provide critical financial input for business cases and solution designs. Monitor performance, track variances, and ensure cost control.
- Partner Management: Manage the onboarding and governance of partners. Track performance using KPIs and SLAs, conduct regular reviews, ensure contract compliance, and oversee accurate payment processing and documentation.
- Inventory & Asset Lifecycle: Oversee the full lifecycle of assets including procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal. Use demand forecasting to ensure stock availability while aligning procurement with pricing and vendor requirements.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain and optimize IMS reporting to ensure data accuracy and perform proactive reconciliations to eliminate historical liabilities.
- Process Improvement: Drive automation and governance enhancements across financial and logistics functions. Participate in requirements gathering and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements.
- Compliance: Uphold the company code of conduct and adhere to all safety, health, and wellbeing policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, BBIT, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operations support function within a busy Enterprise/Telco environment or in Supplier/Partner Management roles.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of Finance, Budgeting, and Project Management.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- A fair understanding of telecommunications/IT and network-related equipment.
