Windle International Kenya is seeking a qualified Special Need Education Teacher. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality education and training for refugees and communities affected by conflict. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons tailored to the needs of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, and monitoring academic progress.
Responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach lessons in line with the curriculum, utilizing appropriate teaching methods to support student understanding and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare tests, assignments, and exams; mark and provide feedback; and monitor and record students' academic progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline, create a safe and inclusive learning environment, and manage student behavior effectively.
Student Support and Guidance: Mentor and guide students on academic and personal development, identify learning difficulties, and refer cases where necessary.
Professional and Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, maintain records, communicate with parents/guardians, and participate in school activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Education.
At least two years of post-graduation teaching experience.
Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Proficiency in office software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Willingness and ability to live, work, and travel in a fast-paced and potentially insecure environment, adhering to strict security guidelines.
