The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) is a state corporation established under the Micro and Small Enterprise Act No. 55 of 2012. The Authority, domiciled in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives, is seeking to recruit a Senior Security Officer to lead its security operations and safeguard its assets and personnel.
Role Purpose
The Senior Security Officer (MSEA GRADE 5/6) is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of security management strategies and policies. This role involves proactive intelligence gathering, risk assessment, and the coordination of emergency responses to prevent security breaches and ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Policy: Develop and implement security management strategies and organizational policies.
Emergency Planning: Prepare and update emergency procedures and contingency plans to ensure organizational resilience.
Intelligence Management: Proactively collect, collate, and disseminate relevant security intelligence aimed at preventing security breaches.
Records Management: Maintain detailed records of acts of unlawful interference, crimes, and incident charts.
Supervision: Supervise contracted security personnel to ensure that work orders and service standards are strictly followed.
Risk Assessment: Undertake routine checks, security risk and threat assessments, and comprehensive security inspections.
Investigations: Lead investigations into security incidents and complex crimes, recommending appropriate actions and liaising with relevant security agencies.
Reporting: Ensure periodic returns and reports on security operational affairs are made to management.
Documentation: Plan and design security documents, including passes and registers.
Leadership: Manage and supervise other personnel performing security-related duties and attend relevant security meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Security Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must have served in the Police Service or Military and attained the rank of Inspector/Captain, or served in a relevant equivalent security role.
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in security management.
Proficiency in Computer applications.
