The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) is seeking to recruit five (5) Security Officer IIs. This is an entry-level grade for degree holders entering this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer to ensure the safety of the Authority's assets and the integrity of its operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing security policies, procedures, systems, standards, and guidelines.
Safeguarding assets and property of the Authority against destruction, misuse, and loss.
Assessing risks and mitigating potential consequences.
Conducting security surveys and inspections.
Responding to emergencies, threats, and intrusions.
Maintaining crimes and incidents records and charts, security surveys, inspections, and periodic returns on operational affairs.
Maintaining records of acts of unlawful interference.
Undertaking raids and surveillance.
Maintaining the Authority Register on cases under prosecution.
Maintaining evidence registers for all cases filed by the Authority.
Identifying, investigating, and resolving security breaches.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Criminology, Security Management, Crime Prevention and Management, or a relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
A valid Police Clearance Certificate.
A Certificate of honorable discharge from security service, where applicable.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Statutory Requirements
Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by providing:
Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Clearance from the Commission for University Education for degrees obtained outside Kenya.
