The Senior Project Associate will assist the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of programme activities under the Better Migration Management (BMM) initiative. This role involves a strong focus on Trafficking in Persons (TiP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SoM) data, acting as a regional coordinator for administrative actions and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of programme activities in line with approved workplans and budgets.
Compile and analyze financial and programme data from country offices for accurate donor reporting.
Monitor budget implementation and propose necessary adjustments.
Serve as the administrative focal point, liaising with organizational units and external partners for clearances and follow-ups.
Draft status reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and update statistical tables and graphics.
Organize workshops and training sessions, preparing materials for capacity-building workshops on migration management.
Respond to complex information requests and maintain project records.
Liaise with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors.
Monitor implementing partners for compliance and report non-compliance to the supervisor.
Contribute to Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), concept papers, and new project development.
Provide guidance and training to other staff members within the unit.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A High School diploma with at least six years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Liaison: Proven experience coordinating with governmental authorities and international institutions.
Target Groups: Experience working with migrants, refugees, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable populations.
Sector Experience: Previous work with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
Good knowledge of the programme management cycle.
Excellent report writing skills, including preparation of results matrices and log frames.
Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
Familiarity with donor management, budgeting, and financial regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relational databases.
Strong analytical skills and research capability.
Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural teams.
