Job Description
The Project Manager for Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation (SIDP) is responsible for the successful implementation of the SIDP Project in Kenya. This role involves effective planning, management, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the project. The post holder will be actively involved in nurturing and managing relationships with diverse project stakeholders and will work under the guidance of the Programme Manager to execute the project strategy and deliverables in Kenya.
Main Accountabilities
Operational and Programme Management
Responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and quality assuring the SIDP Project work in Kenya as per project management frameworks and standards.
Implement sound programme management practices to deliver impact for the British Council and its partners.
Identify opportunities for program development and expansion based on lessons learned and stakeholder needs.
Risk Management
Identify, assess, report, and monitor risks to project objectives.
Maintain a robust and updated project risk management register.
Budget and Financial Management
Manage project budgets to corporate standards, ensuring prompt reporting and continuous monitoring.
Ensure meeting agreed financial spend targets in line with implementation plans.
Procurement
Ensure all procurement and contracts for service align with corporate and client policy.
Maintain robust documentation for future reference.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Support the development and implementation of M&E plans, including data collection and impact evaluation.
Work with M&E consultants to ensure proper documentation and clear reporting against targets.
Stakeholder Management
Maintain and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Support identify potential partnerships and new business opportunities.
Safeguarding and EDI
Ensure project activity reflects the British Council's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) policy.
Follow Child Protection and Adults at Risk policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements and Qualifications
A First degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management.
Experience in programme management within the local context.
Experience working in a matrix management structure (Desirable).
Must have the legal right to work in Kenya at the time of application.
Terms of Employment
Contract Duration: One (1) Year fixed term.
Gross Monthly Salary: KES 379,502.
