The Senior Programme Accreditation Officer at the Commission for University Education (CUE) is responsible for ensuring that university academic programmes comply with established guidelines and quality standards. This role involves the end-to-end management of the accreditation process, from evaluation of proposals to coordinating site visits and reporting findings.
Responsibilities
Assessing academic programmes for compliance with the Commission's guidelines.
Coordinating the training of peer reviewers.
Overseeing organization site visits to institutions.
Maintaining a comprehensive database of peer reviewers.
Ensuring identification of peer reviewers is done according to established guidelines.
Following up with peer reviewers to ensure timely submission of evaluation reports.
Maintaining status reports on the evaluation of academic programmes.
Preparing site inspection reports on academic programs for institutions.
Examining proposals for courses of study and course regulations submitted by Universities.
Preparing documents for Panel Meetings, Curriculum Accreditation Sub-Committee Meetings, site inspections, and accreditation workshops.
Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership in a relevant professional body and in good standing.
Completion of a Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Full compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
